March 11th 2010, was certainly a day to remember for me. First i had to attend a function of my best friend. I was narrating an incident to my cab driver. Here in through this blog i am letting u all know what exactly happened. A few days before March 11th i had travelled in an auto to a bank. The driver was chewing something and was second to none in cursing the roads and government rules(He gave some break in between for spitting on the road). I listened to him patiently and did not utter a word back. He was constantly praising other countries and its beauty. Before i got down he asked me didn i like what he was speaking? I just replied like “anna i did like whatever u were speaking”. He replied “ You are looking unhappy. Y? “. I replied “ Y do u have to spit all through our travel and praise other countries?” . He replied “Hey boy this is India”. I just smiled and replied “ I think u r missing a word there. Please tell it as Hey boy this is MY INDIA.” I knew by his reaction he was surprised and i gave him the money and requested him to keep the city(country) clean before leaving the place after giving him his fare. My cab driver asked sorry the very next moment and told me that he had been doing the same thing that the auto walla was doing and promised me not to repeat it again. I felt much happier.
April 2nd, On my way to Perambur in a very happy mood for 2 reasons. 1) i was going to see a new born baby(my friend’s baby), 2) I was going to go on the newly built and much awaited Perambur flyover. I must say its easily one of the best design and well built one. But when i was about the reach the end of it, I found something that we are pretty much used to see in India. Writing names on the public walls. I felt heart broken as the flyover was hardly a week old. When i told my friend, guess the reply i got. Its so easy. Hey dude this is India. Y is there not a feeling that this is MY INDIA. Who else will care if v don. I hope this blog changes the view of atleast one in a billion if not one in a million.
My sincere appeal to all those who read this blog to carry this message forward. Jai hind. Lets try to keep this country as beautiful as possible.
Who else ll take care of mother India if v don.
